how can dosemu catch keyboard shortcuts before the desktop environment?

    Hello all,

I'm not entirely sure whether this is the correct subforum, so please point me to the correct one if I'm wrong here.

I run a DOS program in dosemu that uses Alt+F1 to Alt+F10 for some commands, but all those combinations are assigned to something different by the desktop environment. Dosbox catches those key combinations (i.e. prevents e.g. the window to be closed with Alt+F4), but dosbox is not an option for this particular program because it screws up other things.

Is there maybe a way of disabling keyboard shortcuts for specific programs? The problem is the same with Gnome and KDE and I would appreciate any hint for either of them.

To be a bit more precise: If the mouse is "trapped" in Dosbox, the key combinatins Alt+F1 to Alt+F10 work, if the mouse is "free", there is the same situation as with Dosemu. Does anyone have an idea how I can get Alt+F-keys working with Dosemu?

I've started another thread here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...51#post5116151

That's probably a better place for my problem.
