Hello all,
I just installed Ubuntu on my Toshiba R100 laptop and have been extremely happy with it, although I have one slight niggle which has been bothering me.
The laptop display has a native resolution of 1024x768, although I cannot change in the "Desktop size and rotate" tool from the UI. The highest res I can change to is 800x600, and no amount of editing Xorg.conf seems to make any difference.
The graphics adapter is a Trident XP4m32, and I believe I am using the XOrg Trident device drivers although to be honest I have no idea how to check this. Incidentally, the Xorg.conf file in /etc/X11/ also appears quite empty, with all the default options and no specifics.. is this normal or should it have autodetected and inserted some Device/Monitor/Screen settings?
