    DELL Inpiron 1525 luminosity- Ubuntu 8.04

    Since I upgraded my DELL Inspiron 1525 laptop to Ubuntu 8.04, I cannot change the luninosity anymore: Fn + UpArrow and Fn + DownArrow do not work anyore.

    1. Could you help with this problem?
    2. Is there any other known problems due to the upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 and what are the fixes?

    Do you by chance have an NVidia card?

    same probleme here on inspiron 1501 with ATI graphics

    back on 7.10 it was semi-fonctionnal; had like 2 different levels of luminosity.

    now fn + arrows shows luminosity level but doesnt change it.

    some answers?

    new owner of a fujitsu LifeBook A6120 most everithing sems to be working out of the box. I resized window vista with the vista tool for modifiyng partitons and intalled ubuntu in the free space (about half the hard drive).

    The fn F7 and the fn F8 keys for sound control work but the fn F6 and fn F7 for luminosity control do not work. Even the luminosity applet has no effects.

    I did that console command:
    cat /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/LCD/brightness
    The result was:
    <not supported>
