Unhappy Hardy 64 bit Mouse & Keyboard freeze PS/2 (Abit IP35-E, P35 Intel)

    Hi!

This seems to be quite common problem. I checked launchpad. Mouse and keyboard freezes randomly 4-5 times / day. Is there anything that can be done except wait for update?

I didn't have this problem with Gutsy and my hardware is perfectly ok. It seems that there must be something wrong with the driver / communication part. Because everything is fine, but all control is lost. Just like whole PS/2 interface would have died from motherboard.

    Booting system fixes the problem.

HW: ordinary pc, nothing special. Intel P35 chipset.

KW: ps2, hardy heron, 64bit, 64 bit, amd64, freeze, froze, frozen, doesn't work, not responding, stuck, reboot

    This problem is still unsoved.

It seems that many other people are suffering from same problem. Even with earlier Ubuntu versions.

There is also a lot of discussion about this problem. But no problem resolution how to solve it.

Does anyone know if this could possibly solve the problem?

Latest v18 update, or doesn't that contain the update mentioned in my previous posts link.

    - Thank you!

But main problem(?) is that this motherboard got Award bios, not AMI. Hmm?

Because there aren't any proper hints. I have to continue trouble shooting. Now I have also USB keyboard and mouse. When USB or PS/2 or both(?) die. Then I'll know bit more where the problem is.

I'm quite interested to see the results.
