How to install Jahshaka?

I just learned about a cool looking video editor that seems that if fits the needs I need. It's called Jahshaka. But the thing is I can't find a guide for how to install it does anyone know.

P.S I have Windows Vista in my computer too but Jahshaka doesn't work on it.

Also I have Ubuntu 8.04

I just installed ubuntu so an easy guide would be nice.

I have to go to school now so I won't be able to respond for along time.

HERE is a link to a .deb file. it is for dapper ubuntu, but perhaps it will work.
