Hi! I am a recently new Linux user, and I am using Ubuntu Hardy Heron...

However, when I wanted to play a video file, I double-clicked and the Ubuntu default video player opened. It then said I do not have the correct codecs installed, and so I installed the relevant GStreamer codecs immediately...
Now, when I try to play a video file, the player exits once I press play. I attempted to use other video players, but the same thing happenned.

I have an older computer, an Pentium 4 with a SiS inbuilt video card (I have no idea how to find out what kind)...

Can anyone help me? I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks! -etienne
