    Samba Connectivity Problems

So I'm trying to create a server using the latest Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server Edition. I then created a share and started transferring files to the samba share from a windows machine. It starts to transfer ok, then out sometimes transfer would stop saying the network disconnected. It would work if I keep retrying the transfer but that is getting kind of annoying. This is happening using both my Vista/Xp machines.

    Anyone have any ideas?

BTW, this is through a wired connection.

    Hi vashwood.
Sounds like a network card problem?
Try a different nic and see if it works.

Before I installed ubuntu on this machine I was running windows xp fine. I didn't experience any problems w/ the NIC. Is there something else I can try before I spend money on another NIC?
