    Trying to play .wmv/.mov/ etc.

I'm having some issues playing video files. I have the proper codecs installed on Ubuntu to play them, but whenever I try to play them, I get sound but no video. The first part of the video quickly flashes in the beginning, but doesn't show again. Any ideas?

Yes I have the "Ubuntu Restricted Extras" installed from Add/Remove. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it in case the download was corrupted in some way.

I also have my proper video driver installed via EnvyNG, and from what I understand, the mplayer plugin is installed by default in Hardy.

And it's not web video's I'm having issues with, its just standard video files I have listed in the post title.
