Persistent net share connections?

When I connect to a net share (ie. a Samba share) Hardy does all right, but how do I instruct ubuntu to reconect on startup? I usually do all my work on networked drives and don't want to reconnect every time I log.

I can mount on a script, or include the net drives on fstab, or any other choice of connection by using command line but I would like to be able to do it on the GUI: it's (for me) an important adoption issue in my office. Can they be bookmarked? Can they be made parsistent? The key here is without having to write on a script or using command line.

I generally use the "Connect to Server" option to place an icon on my desktop, but just to give you more information (than you probably wanted), check this thread. (It's also CLI-based, but as he mentions, it's pretty basic.)
