    Virtualization and Recovery Disks

I'm thinking of trying to run Windows Vista in a virtual machine. Unfortunately I only have one of those recovery/restore disks from the computer manufacturer. Can I install from one of those into a Virtual Machine?

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered elsewhere, my googlefu is weak and I didn't find anything.

    Thanks in advance.

    No harm in trying

I tried to do just that with my Acer WinXP restore CD's. The process was going smoothly until it failed in the end - during OEM/Product-specific updates. I'm not sure how things will turn out with Vista, but if you've got the time, I see no harm in trying.
Focus on how it can be rather than how it could've been.
