    Podcasts

I've just installed Ubuntu onto my parents computer. I can help them with most of there problems they might have with it. But they just asked me how to listen to podcasts and to be honest I don't know how? Can anyone tell me how I'd do it? It's on this site and when you click to listen to it pops up with this.

    Ah, iTunes.

iTunes works via wine I am told, never tried it myself...it's worth a shot. Supposedly the only thing that does not work is CD burning, but as long as you don't need that, you should be fine.

Rhythmbox does podcast catching pretty well, although you will need VLC or libquicktime if you are going to pull feeds encoded in mp4.

Personally, I use Google Reader, and grab everything through RSS.
