also have you run sudo apt-get update & sudo apt-get upgrade in the terminal this might fix some probs

I did this and there werent many updates needed

What are your system specs? I know this was asked already, but to get decent help you need to give more info-- Processor, memory, video card, hard drive....

Maybe try another one, there are many and see if the fault is with rhythmbox.

Also you can try and see what is actually wrong - open a terminal and run rhythmbox from there - command is rhythmbox, then start firefox and try to replicate the fault.

If there is an error message that will be a help in trying to find out what's wrong.

I might also suggest amending the title of this thread, especially in light of your last one
