[SOLVED] Advance Desktop Effects

hii everybody,

I am Rajas and I wanted some help regarding my desktop effects. I installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 8.4. I had Avant Window Navigator, Kiba - Dock, Advance Deskyop Effects, Screenlets but all this was installed by my friend Ron who is not really my friend now. Anyway, I don't know anything about how to install all this stuff again. I somehow managed to download the desktop effects but none of them work..... can someone help me?????

I have AMD 64 Athlon
I am a 32 but user.

Hey Rajas, I'm just gonna give you a few links that take you through the steps of some of the items on your list. Hope it helps.
So here it goes:

1) Desktop Effects
System>Preferences>Appearance>Visual Effects Tab
*Make sure proprietary drivers are enabled: System>Adminitration>Hardware Drivers

2) CompizFusion/Advanced Desktop Effects Settings
Try running the following command on Terminal

sudo apt-get install compiz compizconfig-settings-manager

Advanced Desktop Effects should show in System>Preferences>Advanced Desktop Effects Settings
*However I recommend you read one the following HOWTOs
