gnome doesnt draw wallpaper under top panel

    this happens when
    • The auto hiding of the panel is enabled
    • The panel is not extended
    • The panels are not running

the wallpaper is not drawn where the gnome panel should be. the blank space is clerly visible when the desktop cube is enabled. also anything that passes over the top of the desktop leaves its residue.

    screenshots are attached.

I also had this problem, (though I had two bars, and only one was giving me problems)

What I did too fix it was simply make a new panel, set that panel on the top of screen (To cover the part that was messing up), then move that panel to the bottom/delete it. It was a simple fix and it worked for me, hopefully it will work for you too

Also I'm sure you probably tried a restart, just throwing that out there just in case you hadn't
    goodluck
