    hp photosmart d7160

    Hello,

I have an hp photosmart d7160 printer. It's worked great with ubuntu for the past 18 months since it's purchase, but I've never used it for full 8.5x11 photo photos. Until the other day.

I couldn't figure out a way to print full page photos like that without a border around the print. I want the photos to go all the way to the edges.

Fortunately, I was able to boot into windows (which mostly sits on the drive unused for the past few years) and make the prints I needed in the way I wanted.

But surely there is a way to do this in linux without the margin/border?

Anyone else have this printer and know how to do this?

    Thanks!

Okaay- not a lot of response, so let me try to ask this from another angle.

I noticed HP has drivers for linux on their website.

Are these the same drivers ubuntu installs automatically, or are they different and maybe I'll be able to print full sheet photos properly?

Well, the drivers HP has on their website are those of hplip, which does come pre-installed(sans GUI) on 8.10. There are a few drivers in the repos now that may help, but I cannot say for certain.

Switching to windows for one thing or another does sometimes prove necessary because we are a minority and we don't pay all that much.
