Connecting with built in "Connect to Server" with shared key ssh

Hi all, I recently switched over my ssh server to shared key, as I figured this is considerably more secure. Anyway, since doing that I'm (expectedly) unable to take advantage of the built in places->connect to server in Gnome.

Is there anyway to change the connect to server feature to take advantage of connecting through the use a public/private key pair instead of through a password?

Hmmm, seems like a lot of things are trickier to do with a key pair, VNC has been tricky at best... Maybe I'll stick to passwords + fail2ban for now.
