    DualBoot query

I have 2 80G drives. 1 with XP and 1 blank and with 1 partition.

I want to install a Dual Boot on the currently empty drive.

How do I go about this?

I've tried having the computer boot first from CD and with Ubuntu 8.04 in the drive but it hangs.

Any help appreciated. The Ubuntu CD has been check for integrity.

Are you sure the CD is good? When you boot the CD, does it get to the first menu, or does it not work at all? Do you get an error message?

I get to the first screen, but didn't pose my question well Can you help with this

How can I install Ubuntu to Drive E:\. (I have several fixed drives.) I think it keeps trying to install itself to C:\ and C:\ is my storage drive.
My Windows boot drive is F:\
and the blank drive to which I want to install Ubuntu - as dual boot) is E:

    Re: DualBoot query

You have to boot from the CD. You may need to change the boot priority in the BIOS to allow this.

Once the live CD is running and your are able to get all your hardware working then attempt to install by clicking on the icon.

Choose to manually partition your hard disks when prompted.
