    Arrow External Hard Drive Issue

I plugged in the hard drive into my laptop running Ubuntu (8.04). Ubuntu pops out an error saying i cant use it because it is Fat 32 format. Windows detects this as normal. is there any way i can use this HDD in Ubuntu without re formatting it?

FAT32 is read perfectly by Linux. There is something else the issue. Perhaps the drive is corrupted? Run a chkdsk with Windows on it.
