Compatible Webcam or Videocamera with high quality

Hello.
I am looking to purchase a webcam or video camera to record college lectures to help for studying for exams. Therefore it has to have decent quality at about 20 meters. The color resolution does not have to be amazing, just good enough to pickup the difference between the blackboard and chalk. I would like to also be able to pickup the slides, but they are posted online, and I am therefore not worried about them.

What model do you suggest? I of course also need there to be linux drivers for it.
