    HP DV9008nr Screen Problems

Hey, I just recently Jumped into Ubuntu 8 after being a Windows User for many many years. I'm glad to say im very impressed with Ubuntu as a whole. I can honestly say, as much as i hate coffee, this has been my favorite cup ever

I have one problem however. I did see a thread similar to what im currently experience, but i could not find it on the search. i have an HP DV9008nr with Hardy running on it, greatly i must add. But when ever i shut the screen or it goes into screen saver mode, and i open it back up, or move the mouse to bring it back from the screen saver, my screen spazes on me. Its nowhere readable, just a bunch of white and black squares. Its fine after a restart, obviously. I have my NVidia drivers installed i believe, but for reference, heres my -lspci.

Also, i noticed when i use my scroll bar thing on the side of my touch pad when im on my desktop, it switches between workspaces. I didn't see anything in the appearance menus. Was there an option i over looked?

If someone could help, and i know someone can. Ubuntu has better and quicker feedback on problems than Windows so i know im not just a number with this OS. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: HP DV9008nr Screen Problems

i also just noticed that when i do switch users. And i close it for the night, and open it back in the morning, it does the same thing. But i type in my username and password, blindly, the screen changes colors, so i know ubuntu hasn't crashed.
