I have the Intel 915GM chipset with a 1280x800 native res. LCD...
that was a little frustrating to get working.
My xorg.conf had the correct resolution listed, but under Ubuntu it showed 1024 x 768. I found out eventually that all I had to do was add the line "1024 x 768" and then choose 1280 x 800 in Ubuntu. now everything has been working perfect for about a month.
My next project is an UbuntuStudio based DAW. Any hardware suggestions? PM me.

This machine is lightning fast. Quicker than with XP or Vista.
This is the 4th machine (3rd Dell) that I've installed Ubuntu on.
