    Work:
    HP - AMD Athlon64 3700+
    1GB Ram
    160GB SATA HD
    Lightscribe ±DVD Burner
    Dual 15" LCDs
    XP Pro SP2

    School:
    Dell XPS m140
    P4 M 1.7Ghz
    1GB Ram
    80GB 7200 RPM HD
Feisty Fawn w/ all the unstable compiz fusion packages

I have the Intel 915GM chipset with a 1280x800 native res. LCD...
that was a little frustrating to get working.
My xorg.conf had the correct resolution listed, but under Ubuntu it showed 1024 x 768. I found out eventually that all I had to do was add the line "1024 x 768" and then choose 1280 x 800 in Ubuntu. now everything has been working perfect for about a month.

My next project is an UbuntuStudio based DAW. Any hardware suggestions? PM me.

I have a 500GB USB My Book HD that I share between 'em. They ain't much, but they get me by for now (especially since I've switched completely to Ubuntu!). Hope to get a more boss laptop in the next few months.

As for browsers, I use Firefox 80% of the time, Opera 15%, and Epiphany 5%.

    Dell Precision M90 laptop:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33Ghz (4Mb L2)
    4Gb RAM DDR2 dual channel 667Mhz
    SATA Seagate Momentus 7,200 160Gb
    nVidia Quadro 3500M 512Mb
    Sigmatel 9200 audio with sub-woofer
    17" screen 1920x1200
    4 in 1 card reader
Smart card reader (O2 Micro which doesn't work)
    Firewire 400
    6x USB 2.0
    Express card slot
    Video out: VGA, DVI, S-viideo
    Intel 3945 wireless pro
    Ethernet 10/100/1000
    56K modem
    Bluetooth
DVD-/+RW dual layer (I wouldn't mind a Light Scribe to replace it)

Running Ubuntu 7.04 with nVidia and Wireless restricted drivers

Firefox & Thunderbird, with standard Gnome desktop (albeit an XP look-a-like).

This machine is lightning fast. Quicker than with XP or Vista.

This is the 4th machine (3rd Dell) that I've installed Ubuntu on.
