    Hotkey

    when using windows, if a application make my computer crash, I can use keyboard with window+D to show my desktop or ctrl+alt+del to use task manager to kill that application. But in ubuntu, I can do nothing when my computer crash, so can somebody point me some hotkey to kill application in ubuntu ??
    Im not English or American so my English is very bad.

    You can add a force quit option to the gnome panel. Right click a panel, choose add to panel, and choose 'Force Quit'. However, since you are not speaking englsih, it is goign to be labeled whatever the translation is.

    You could try restarting (X-server) the desktop which is Alt-Ctrl-Backspace or Alt-F2 and then enter xkill

    I suggest that you use the Force Quit button to force an application to quit when it becomes unresponsive. You can add the Force Quit button by right clicking on the panel and selecting 'Add to panel ...', then select 'Force Quit'.

    Alternatively you can use the System Monitor to end process - on the Main Menu go to System > Application > System Monitor (the System Monitor can also be added to panel).

    Should you need to restart the Window Manager you have to use Ctrl + Alt + Backspace.

    I just wanna say that this was a very useful topic and many others have been too. I'm happy i switched to ubuntu.
