I'm new to Ubuntu studio and jackd. I have an older system that I want to use to record but I'm having problems with jackd.
processor : AMD 800Mhz Duron
FSB speed : 200Mhz
RAM : .5GB
Sound card: turtle beach Montego II (au8830)
When I record with audacity (which I think connects directly to the ALSA driver) it plays back fine with no problems. When I use anything that connects to jackd, the playback has static and the timing is unstable.
I haven't been able to find a good tutorial for tuning jackd up for my sound card but I think if audacity can record without problems jackd connected applications ought to be able to as well.
I'm attaching a screen capture from qtjack setup.
If anybody could point me in the right direction that would be great.
