Is there an Ubuntu app that burns MP3 audio CDs from MP3 files? There are lots of posts on the internet that say yes, but when I check them out, they invariably turn out to be wrong. Why is there so much confusion about this?
Let me be clear as to what I am talking about. I want to record MP3 files on a CD in MP3 audio format that will play in an MP3 player and can contain up to 24 or so hours of recording.
I DONT'T mean to record mp3 files on a CD in the usual uncompressed audio format that can hold no more than an hour of recording. This seems to be what most people think of when you say "MP3 CD".
I have tried k3b (with all the MP3 plug-ins), Brasero and GnomeBaker. All can record audio CDs from MP3 files, but none can record in MP3 format. To wit, there is no config or preference setting in any of therse programs to set the recorded audio format. All record in only one format, despite being able to decode different input formats.
So far, I have not been able to find any app that can do it. Does anyone out there know of one?
