    Transfering Files From xp->ubuntu

    Hey just got Ubuntu installed on my computer a few days ago and i was gonna try and play WoW on it and see how it worked. I was wondering if it was possible to just move my WoW folder from XP to Ubuntu without completely reinstalling all the CD's and patching it. If anyone could provide me with info if this is possible or not it would be appreciated

    This likely will not work. When applications are installed in Windows, some files are often installed to locations other than "Program Files", and then, of course, there are changes made to the registry which cannot easily be transferred.

    You'll need to install WoW in Wine, too, which further complicates the process. While it might be possible to transfer the files from one XP install to another, I think you'd be better off reinstalling from scratch in this case.

    Of course, I've never installed/played WoW, so I could be wrong.

    Probably not.

    You may be able to install the program and then copy the data ...
