Other OS's's's

Is there another OS you guys would recommended? I'm sick of dealing with bugs on ubuntu every time I log in. Okay, well not EVERY time, but it's still a nuisance.

Perhaps downloading the previous version of Ubuntu may be better, since it's been out for a long time.

Any ideas?

Debian Stable is virtual bug free, but you might have to configure some things to work properly.

Quite a few people here on the forums seem to like Arch. It might be something you would like.

It depends on your interests and capabilities.

Gnome, KDE, XFCE?

Are you comfortable with building it yourself or do you want to install it and log in to all the bells and whistles.

Package management preferences?

I would go to the top 10 major distro list at Distrowatch.com and start there.

To be honest with you, I really have no idea what a good part of that means. :X

I like Ubuntu, it's just it has a lot of little bugs that **** me off. I like the repository, gui, memory usage, etc. Just the little things really bother me.

Slackware looks good imo. based on my system specs, what would be best for me?

As far as I am aware, just about anything Slack based is pretty light on the resources.

But Slackware itself is quite a bit more hands on than Ubuntu. So configuring your system is more of a challenge if you are not used to it.

But Slack does have many good derivatives, may be you should try those first.

They will be a bit more user friendly if you aren't up for the challenge.
