No sound... gstreamer?

Hello.

Long time closet user of Ubuntu.

I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 i386 on my main computer, that is on a regular basis running windows xp.

I got the nvidia drivers figured out. But my sound is .... really annoying. I have none.

I have a CMI 6738 based soundcard says Ubuntu. I thought it was 6768+ - No matter.

It says something about missing some gstreamer modules?

Ingen Gstreamer-moduler eller enheder til lydstyrkekontrol fundet.

That is danish, I will try and translate:

No gstreamer Modules or units for the soundvolumecontrol found.

Anyone have a slightest idea, what could be wrong?

Maybe missing something...try here:

or try installing gstreamer from synaptic package manager
