My girlfriend and a friend of her (both never used linux before, and they don't know much about either MS Windows nor computers in general) used my ubuntu for sometime yesterday and, well, they like it.
Well, my girlfriend used it to play that bubble game (for a couple of hours), and her friend used it to surf the net but still, they were pretty stubborn on not to use linux at all. So this was very good.
I did not tell them that before they started using it, I had to grapple with it for half an hour so that the winmodem could connect, after which the computer crashed just when pppd launched and I had to do a hard reboot (an slmodem & sound card clash I think), and after which I spent another 15 minutes to connect using dial up.
Also, I am waiting for those ubuntu shipit CDs, which I will give some to my library (they will accept it, although this university _loves_ microsoft) and to my girlfriend's friend (whose father has an interest in computers) etc.
Not so bad for a newbie hmm (~1 month of ubuntu, overall 5 months w/ linux)?
