Pidgin slowly increases resources usage and freezes

As the problem states, thats what happens...
I have less than 10% cpu usage, and when i run pidgin, and i have to specifically send a message in order for the cpu to spin out of control...
i can have it open without much trouble, but as soon as i send a message (or receive) the cpu goes at 50%, then slowly goes up to 100% and freezes every other application i have running.

Anyone else have the same problem as me?

Are you using Hardy? Is it a clean install? What are the pidgin plugins in use?

    Hello,

CJay554 what is the version of pidgin that you are using, the one in the repositories? What are the plugins you are using?

I used pidgin and it went sky high with my CPU because i was using xcompmgr as my composite manager.

You have to give us a few more details
Sometimes, when I'm home alone, I google myself
