    Remote access router

    All,

This may not be ubuntu specific, but is there any way to access a Linksys router remotely? Specifically the 192.168.1.1 home router settings page? I'd like to be able to change policies and access restrictions while I'm not at home. I'm not sure which ports need to be open or if its even possible.

    Thanks in advance!

Most of them should have that ability. It should be somewhere in your configuration options to turn it on. Poke around through all of the menus.

Of course, if you do this, I would suggest that you make sure the router up to date on its firmware, and has a very strong password. There have been flaws in the past which allow people to bypass authentication on several of the linksys routers.
