    Smile My C/C++ IDE

    Many people ask about C/C++ IDEs specially when they leave MS & Visual-Studio, so this is how my IDE looks now:


    (gedit + lots of plugins)

    I wouldn't know, I've never used kate before maybe someone else can help.

    I use geany, it's really good and very lightweight!

    Sure. Kate already has those "side" panels built-in (except for the tabs, which we have the Documents tool view for). It can also have a class browser, a make output viewer, and others. Just look at the plugins sections in Settings -> Configure Kate.

    Eclipse + C/C++ plugin (eclipse-cdt).

    It took me a long while to get used to Eclipse, but I finally like it (also with the pydev plugin).
