Visual Effects, Screensavers, Games won't load.

I am very new to Ubuntu and am having trouble loading visual effects. I also am unable to view any screen savers or games. The problems started a few days ago, around the same time I had a power outage that shut off the computer. I have a Dimension 4700 and no video card. The visual effects were working fine for the first couple days and then just quit. I have not installed any other graphics programs. Suggestions?

If you don't have a video card, Compiz is probably not going to work.

I have an integrated card from what I understand. It was working for the first two days after I first installed Ubuntu. So my question is how to get back to my original configuration or is there a way to find out what changed and just switch back that one thing.
