Sierra Wireless MC8775 and Hardy

I am trying to get the WWAN adapter built into my X61 to work with Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy here.

As I don't have an application to control it (like Access Connection), I have turned off PIN to be able to steer it via a PPP dialer.

I have established that the card is detected by the kernel and initialised with three ports, but no matter what I do, I cannot make it connect the PPP session.

I see that CCP gets rejected, but I am unable to sort out what it means. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I had a similar problem with my T61. I got it working after a little fiddling. My results are here. Good luck!
