It's got to be mp3. I don't see that point in creating hassle for myself by using a format that isn't universally supported when i've got the option of using one that is.

I use Ogg as much as possible due to its open-ness and because it is just technically better (Higher supported bitrate, /me prepares to get flamed by some compression genius). Unfortunately most of the music kicking around the Internet is not in Ogg, so i am stuck with MP3 most of the time.
Got about 3gb of Lugradio oggs on my hard drive though, always get a kick when i go into my free software podcasts directory and see *.ogg for everything.
Luckily my MP3 player supports Ogg (via Rockbox, along with a whole host of other formats) so I can basically take any music with me.

.ogg
i have a cowon iaudio 7 extreme. it plays .ogg and .flac
cheaper than a similar sized ipod at the time too.
i have my music collection in .flac if i need to put it on a portable player it gets turned into .oggs if i ever get another player that only does .mp3, it is only a matter of transcoding again which will take approximately 1 night. no biggy. an i won't get as many compression artefacts as transcoding from lossy to lossy.
oog is a supirior format in terms of qualaty vs filesize. but as its a lossy format(data is thrown away). there is absolutly no point converting mp3 into oog, as you will only decrece the qualaty.
to my ears, a mp3 sounds worse than cassette tape.

I use mp3 exclusively, solely because it is supported by *everything*
MP3 is worse quality-per-megabyte than Ogg but not my much. In exchange, you get something that is practically as open as Ogg and is universally supported.
FLAC is better than both Ogg and Mp3 but is not very well supported, and takes up too much hard drive space for most music players and most computers (if you have a medium to large sized collection).
wow, talk about an already biased poll. i rip to .flac then to nero .aac for those files i need to be mobile.
also, it's interesting to hear about the .ogg preference over .mp3 at a given bitrate. how many have done double blind tests? i'd bet most of you with your current gear wouldn't be able to discern which is .ogg or which is .mp3.
