    Ubuntu error loading OS

I was trying to dual boot windows XP pro with ubuntu hardy heron (ubuntu installed first) and I used this guide: http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_l...lled_first.htm . I thought everything was fine, windows was installed, then I went into Gparted (GNOME partition editor) everything looked to be fine, I flagged the ubuntu partition as the "boot" partition and made sure that the "boot" flag was off the windows partition, then took the Gparted dvdr out restarted and I get this message:

    Code:
    Verifying DMI pool data...................Update Success
    Boot from CD:
    Boot from CD:
    Error loading operating system
From there I cant press anything, cant hit escape, cant type anything, what could be wrong?

    Re: Ubuntu error loading OS

I am experiencing the same problem. I am using XP Pro SP3 & Hardy Heron. Tried booting via the Ubuntu CD & Smart Boot Manager to no avail. Also tried mucking about with the BIOS boot order, also to no avail. Starting to wish I hadn't upgraded to "Hardy" Heron... please help!
