    The Sphere Online Judge allows participants to submit solutions in a lot of languages ( including Python ! ). They've got a lot of cool problems as well. link: http://spoj.pl

    in case anyone is still interested http://www.osix.net/ is for the really hardcore ones imho.
    I'm stuck at level 6, didn't actually give it much thought but it still looks hard... =/

    The sites mentioned above are cooool - meny interesting challenges but I would add an another one: scarky.com
    You can build you own challenge and just paste it on your website or blog.

    Sane over at PFO runs monthly (well somewhat) programming challenges, they normally range from easy (beginner) to complicated (guru) but mostly are relatively short programs. Solutions can be coded in a number of languages for judging, challenges are algorithmic in nature so not related to any particular OS.
