Angry Bluetooth not coming up after OS re-installation

I had the bluetooth remote control feature up and working earlier, I had set it up using the instructions given here , I use 7.10(Gutsy Gibbon). I upgraded to 8.04 and my machine couldn't handle it, it started hanging and giving a lot of problems with the GUI so I formatted "/" and"/var" and installed Gutsy again and now when I try the same commands that are instructed in the above site they don't seem to work. I'm asked for a passkey in my phone (k750i) when I enter the default passkey I get the following error.
    aswin@obZen:~$ sudo hidd --connect 00:ZZ:ZZ:ZZ:ZZ:ZZ
[I enter the default passkey in my phone after the above command and the following happens]
Can't create HID control channel: Connection refused

    Help... Please!
