    Question How to run java application at start up

    Hi, 1st of all I would like to thank everyone for being part of this forum. Im a new Linux user because I was encourage by my Professor to switch to open source OS rather than using a pirated windows.

    It's been a month since I installed a Ubuntu 7 LTS. I know how to create a batch file in windows. Now I've studied the Unix command
    but.....

    So Hers may problem I want to create a script that automanically run a java Application during Start up.

    Can some one teach me how to do this?

    Thanks .. BY THE WAY MY PROF WAS RIGHT LINUX IS BETTER THAN WINDOWS

    SO, I hope I've made the right choice in Picking Ubuntu as my Linux flavor.

    If you use GNOME :
    Go to : Preferencies > Sessions > Startup Programs, then click "Add".
