Keyboard Problems in Counter-Strike 1.6 on Ubuntu 8.04

Well, my keyboard stopped working ingame in counter-strike 1.6. I am running wine 0.9.61 on ubuntu 8.04. What I mean by stopped working is that I pretty much have no keyboard when I play ingame. Nothing works. I've tried pressing all the buttons on keyboard (~ for console, esc to exit, etc...) only my mouse works. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Note: Keyboard works fine everywhere else. I also checked if it was plugged into the usb correctly.

Hello. Excuse me for asking something out of topic, but I have problems running Steam and Cs 1.6 and perhaps yo have already dealed and solved them.
Steam doesn't allow me to install Cs. Did you come with something similar?

try running in a wine virtual desktop this has been a problem in previous versions of wine and by running in a virual desktop the problem was fixed.

Also could you tell me what video card you are running on please Im having trouble running cs 1.6 it keeps crashing but I think its my ATI drivers / wine version.

Running in a virtual desktop doesn't change anything

My video card is a GeForce 6200, with the official nvidia drivers installed

Nvm, it was just temporary. I restarted several times but it didn't fix the problem but the next day it started working again.

So what you're saying is. That you did nothing until the next day, and then it started working again? Because this same problem is happening to me and I don't know what to do. Oh and did you wait exactly 24 hours or the next morning when you woke up?

My keyboard is working, but it works very complicated. When i press "W" in screen appears "E" and so on. I hope you understand my problem. So can somebody give me any advice?

this happens very occasionally for me, when it does i usually have to press the NumLock key on the number pad. This normally causes every thing to spring back to life.

Hope this helps, as i never found a reason or permament cure.
