Nethack tutorial please?

It is nice to have a copy of the Nethack Spoilers when you are playing. It is not really spoiler in the usual sense, it won't spoil the plot (if there is any) but rather describes all items in the game, with their costs, weight, magical properties, chance to hit etc...

A good source of information is the IRC channel #nethack on irc.freenode.net, there is usually plenty of people to answer your questions, and if not, there is a very useful bot named Rodney ( which has an enormous database of answers ready )

If you don't mind being spoiled,there is a "How to win" guide.

But even with its help, it will take you weeks or months to ascend. (Well some people spend years ).
