I voted for Intel Core 2 Duo as my notebook has that.
My desktop has a Pentium D, which is a dual core 64 bit processor.
I didn't vote "other", but I could have if I were to consider my desktop.
My other notebook has a PowerPC G3, my other desktop has an Intel Celeron.

At the moment im on an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz.
I'm hoping to get a Q6600 soon, it should work.

i haven't visited computer stores for a long time. oooh, my boxes are really old. there are a bag of processors in my drawer which i got from the unrepairable computers:
pIII-667, celeron-700, pII-350, pII-266, pI-133, k6-2 350, k6-2 300.
i found out that those old cpu from malfunction motherboards basically have no use unless you can find a suitable motherboard for them.
