    Trying to Install ubuntu getting partition error

    Had Windows Home XP On the drive. Home made computer, no OEM or anything. I try to get 35 GB to Ubuntu and rest to Windows. Starts to partition, errors, and comes up with a table:

    /dev/sda
    /dev/sda1 ntfs 80015 0MB
    free space 8 MB

    I do not know what to do
    Help

    from within windows what does it say is your free space?

    and all though I am sure you know this allready. It doesnot hurt to remember to...
    backup
    create a restore point.
    defrag your HDD in windows.
    Windows XP is like an 8" FDD, kept for compatibility but is no longer required.

    Its says 46.1 GB Free in windows. All of my data is backed up on my Laptop, so no problem there

    Just as a Close up, Defragmenting my Drive allowed me to install perfectly
