    USB Drive Problem

Guys, I'm completely new to Ubuntu. I've some questions regarding the USB drive. When I unmount my USB Drive, the light in my USB stick doesn't go off. In Windows, you have this 'Safely Revome Hardware' option. Isn't there something like this in Ubuntu?

After you've unmounted you can check it's definately unmounted by seeing if it's gone from the /media folder.
The light on my stick remains on, but it disappears from my /media folder after an unmount so i just take it out.

You have to unmount the usb drive first then unplug it. You will find the usb drive on the left of a file browser window.

Won't the data become corrupted if the light is on and I pull out my USB stick from the USB hub?
