Problems resuming from suspend

1. My mouse occasionally doesn't work after a suspend.
Of course, I have been using, up until now, a custom xorg configuration for my touchpad after a suspend. However, all of the mouse devices that go down (I can usually solve this by going back into suspend and coming out again).

2. My network interfaces occasionally go down after a suspend
And it's always both of them at the same time.

I would say that in Hardy about 1/10 times my laptop does not awaken correctly. Durring those few times it doesnt work right i simply hit (ctrl+alt+backspace) to restart the xserver.

I'm using Gutsy, but its something I experienced on Hardy as well.

Under Hardy, about 1 time out of 10, my mouse and keyboard don't work after a resume. The computer is not locked up; I can watch my wireless network reconnect, and anything I had running when I suspended will continue to run normally.

I just shut the lid and open it again, and all is well. It beats the problems I had under Gutsy, but it would be nice to fix this small annoyance.

I'm having problems with my toucpad as well.. can't be used after resuming from suspend.. How can it be solved??

The easiest way to get around this is to go back into suspend and come out again. The problem has been getting a bit better over time; my computer doesn't completely freeze at times when coming out of suspend, but the nuisance of the touchpad or keyboard not working unless I repeat the process plain sucks. What's taking so damn long in fixing this problem? Is there any way to manually resolve this issue?
