no mp3 sound on window partition

    Hello,
I'm having trouble playing mp3s on my laptop. I'm running hardy and sound does work...and I know I have all the restricted packages and stuff, but all my mp3 files on on my windows ntfs partition and when I try to play them with any media player, ether it never plays or I get no sound. I'm not sure if this is a package issue or something with it being on my windows partition. Anyway thanks for you time and help.

Have you tried copying one of the mp3's over to your home folder and played it from there?

Yeah I carried it over on my desktop and still couldn't play the file at all.

That's really wierd. Do you use xine or gstreamer as you audio layer library?
