Question Unable to connect to au.archive.ubuntu.com

When I try to use the synaptic package manager, I get this msg:

    W: Failed to fetch http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/...buntu1_all.deb
Unable to connect to au.archive.ubuntu.com http:

Is the server offline or is it something at my end?

On second thought, still having problems... Tried to update today (have been away for a couple of days)
Get this error in update manager:

Re: Unable to connect to au.archive.ubuntu.com

It means a repo has two entries in the sources.list. Please post the output to:
    Code:
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list

I'm also having issues in the US when attempting to run apt-get update and subsequent apt-get install from multiple machines. Also trying to perform a new install and getting hung at 40% configuring apt so I figure the Ubuntu servers are getting hammered?

I just ran an update for a test and it hung there. Went through the second time around. So may be yes
I'll wait to install the updates.

Re: Unable to connect to au.archive.ubuntu.com

Medibuntu is a third party repo for non free stuff (such as codecs) for ubuntu. I do not know what planetmirror is, are they hosting the medibuntu packages? Do you use it for some other reason? This is the repo giviing you trouble.
I do not like much to link to my own blog, but here is a way to get the medibuntu repos.
