Can some kind person tell me a simple way to make my Snow-Apple trash symbol work on the Desktop. It looks really good as it sits there, but it won't accept...trash!

Your what?

Are you wanting to use the whole icon set, or just the trash icon?
Or is that all it is... An icon?

Yes, just the TRASH icon. The others seem to be properly installed. But for some reason the trash resists my (not very sophisticated efforts) to get it to work.
I'm running Gutsy. When I had Feisty I used Rickford Grant's (excellent) guide to install, but things have moved on since then...

Check and replace the trash icon at the /usr/share/icons/themename and check the places and status folders of appripriate dimentions.
Alternatively, right-click on the Trash icon and select properties. There, you could change the icon to a custom one if you wish to.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make either suggestion work
1) My /usr/share/icons doesn't have a themename for a trash.
2) I right-clicked on the Snow-Apple icon and selected properties but could see no way to customize it.
I apologize if I'm being dense and I'm really grateful for your help. But could you perhaps be more specific? Please...
