    Problem with Inspiron 6000

    Hey guys,

I just installed ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop (Inspiron 6000) a few days ago.
It all seemed to be working fine, even wireless, untill I tried watching media online.

Basically my computer shuts down after a random time, when firefox is open with some flash on it... I'm pretty sure it's Adobe Flash causing the problem... any ideas on how to fix this? Anyone else has the same issue?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jonathon252

I have a Inspiron 6400. I followed this 'sticky' in Multimedia & Video.

I installed most of the things and it works like a dream. Hopes it goes well with you.

    Thanks Onesimus,
I tried following the steps there, but no luck...
All the multimedia works well, untill my computer crashes and shuts down.

    Any other suggestions?

You could try uninstalling Firefox 3 and installing Firefox 2. This may work or try using a different flash (e.g. gnome). Other than that I am at a loss.
