firefox causes gtk theme to drop in fluxbox

so the topic title sums it up rather nicely. i upgraded to hardy last night, and today have been mucking around with it, getting everything just the way i like it, and one of those things is putting fluxbox on the machine. however, when i launch firefox in fluxbox it drops the human theme and causes all of my other programs to revert to the default theme as well. i have to open the appearance window to reset everything to human. strangely this wasn't happening this morning, it just started doing this this afternoon.
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

edit* if i have another program open when i start firefox it doesn't drop the theme.
also added two pictures, the one on the left is the before shot, the one on the right is the after shot.

I prefer to setup a ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file, either manually or using the program gtk-chtheme.

My post in this other thread might help:
