Hi all,
I already posted (few months ago) a message about this issue I'm having but got no answer. I just to see if I have more luck now.
I have a Dell d630 with a built in display capable of 1440x900. I also have a docking station connected to a 20" display capable of 1600x1200. The problem is, when I dock my laptop I can't set the resolution to 1600x1200. In fact, if I go in System->Preferences->Screen Resolution, the maximum value I can select is 1280x1024. The only way to get the correct resolution is to restart X which is really annoying. When I undock the laptop, I can correctly put the resolution back to the native 1440x900 through the System->Preferences->Screen Resolution tool without restarting X.
Is there anything I can do to avoid restarting X every time I put my laptop on the docking station?
I tried to modify my xorg.conf adding a 1600x200 modeline with no luck.
Thanks in advance.
